The photographer’s own words:

"On a visit to Lake Kerkini in in Greece I captured this image during a shoreline feeding session. There are various ongoing research studies on the pelicans and feeding them give the researchers a good view of certain individuals. With white snow and flashes of orange and red bills I decided to go for a long shutter speed to get a more graphic image."- Johan Siggesson, 2022
